Father daughter dance 2025
What is this?
An easy dance that any dancer at TDS can perform alongside a parent, brother, friend, Grandpa, etc, at the close of their Recital Show on their respective Recital Show day and time.
When do we practice and/or learn the dance?
- Thursday April 17th 6:00-7:00 pm
- Thursday April 24th 6:00-7:00 pm
- Thursday May 8th 6:00-7:00 pm
*Any day or time that you can attend, couples are welcome. We also send out videos of the routine and many times families have helped Dad’s and Dancers learn and perfect the dance at home.
What do we wear for the show?
This year’s theme will be a “Kentucky Derby Vibe” so we are asking for Dad’s to wear their favorite Derby Suit attire. Dancers will dance in their last recital costume with a provided Fascinator. This is to avoid having to change, and delay the flow of the show.
When do Dad’s go backstage?
Dad’s are welcome to watch the entire show from the audience and then when the 2nd to last dance is taking the stage; Dad’s will need to make their way backstage to meet up with their dance partner.
How do Siblings work?
If siblings are in the same show and Dad’s would like to dance with both dancers, we will help to coordinate any of the moves to work with multiple dancers. If siblings are in different shows, Dad’s are welcome to perform with each individual dancer or choose to combine into one show. Whatever works for your dancers and the flow of your shows and nights. We will confirm at our last practice what Show each couple is in and who we can expect to perform on each night.
How do we sign up to let you know we are participating?
This season we are asking couples to register throug their studio account portal. We are collecting a $15 fee for the couple to offset the cost of the dancers hat and time we spend creating and perfecting our favoroite part of the show. Register by Tuesday April 10th.

Recital Flowers
A wonderful way to celebrate your dancers big day is to present them with flowers at the close of their performance. Below is a link to Pre Order flowers. These will be available the day of your dancers show in the lobby of our recital venue.
Hair & Make up
Make Up is at the discretion of you and your family. Make Up is a part of performing and applying some does help dancers to look their best on stage and under the bright lights. Feel free to apply what your dancer can handle and what makes them look and feel their best! My favorite lip color is
Rimmel Provocalips, Color = Just Teasing.
This is the color our Company dancers wear. It stays put which is nice for little mouths that like to wiggle, lick, bite, and move a lot. The color is also a good neutral that goes with most costume colors.
